SC BIPEC (South Carolina’s Business and Industry Political Education Committee), has released its 2013 legislative scorecard for all of the members of the South Carolina House and Senate. On that report card, Rep. Bill Sandifer has received the highest possible score of 100 for the second year in a row.

SC BIPEC, a politically nonpartisan business and industry organization, has been keeping score and informing South Carolinians about how their legislators are voting on business-related issues since 1985. The organization uses roll call votes and bill sponsorships on business and industry issues to calculate a vote score for each member. Legislators are graded based on issues such as property taxes, health care and tort reform, local and state regulatory fees, licenses, and corporate income taxes.

Sandifer notes that he is “very proud to be one of only a few to earn a score of 100” on the BIPEC scorecard.

“One of my top goals in the General Assembly is supporting legislation that improves our business climate,” Sandifer said. “By making South Carolina more business-friendly, we can help create and attract higher-paying jobs, fuel our economy, and ensure a better standard of living for the families of our state.”
